我所處的工作環境無一人識我,人們友善,但常讓我感到尷尬而無言以對,因為我全然不是這樣那樣的人,但似乎總得被迫戴上這樣那樣的標籤而尷尬陪笑,痛苦不已. 我常想,在一群幾乎朝夕相處的熟人中,自認簡單的我竟然像個異樣古怪的謎而不為人所真實理解.
聖法蘭西斯祈禱文說: "求主讓我不求別人的了解而能了解別人",我心中並無這樣的禱告,但對這一切逢場作戲般的溝通其實也早已不抱希望.
但我有時卻也這麼想,我所在乎的那個所謂真實的 "我",那些依附在這個 "我" 字底下的千般山水萬般記憶,難道不應如煙一般隨風而逝?
甘地有這麼一些話,他說:
且讓我給你這樣一種具有不可思議神奇力量的寶物,當你深陷懷疑,當自我膨漲如斯,不妨試試:
回想你所曾見過最窮最弱的人,想想你所打算走上的道路是否對他們有任何用處,他們能從中獲利嗎?他們能因此重掌生命與命運嗎? 換句話說,飽受饑苦及精神饑渴的眾生能否因此走上獨立自主? 當你如是思索,你的懷疑與自我便將消逝無蹤.
I will give you a talisman.
Whenever you are in doubt or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test:
Recall the face of the poorest and weakest man
you have seen and ask yourself if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him.
Will he gain anything by it? Will it restore him to control over his own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to Swaraj for the hungry and spiritually starving millions?
Then you will find your doubts
And your self melting away.
